This car entered the shop as a fairly solid racecar with some good parts, but it was heavy and a little rough, and not capable of running at the platform’s potential. BimmerWorld, along with Bassen Autobody and Epic Motorsports, will rebuild the chassis completely and cleaning up the rest of the car to produce a true front runner.
Although this car came to us as a racecar, it still needs some work to live up to it’s potential.
First, we go about removing the old cage.
Next, the rats nest of wiring is removed and cage construction begins.
This custom cage build will be made for additional room and extra measure are performed to add longevity to the chassis.
Our cage is completed and a new, carbon dash is fitted.
Before sending to paint, the suspension is installed for a widebody mockup and final pre-paint work is completed. Andy Blackmore has designed us a nice graphic scheme for this car.
Our friends over at Bassen Autobody gets to work fitting the widebody kit and covering up years of track use with a fresh coat of bright white paint.
Back from Bassen Autobody with new paint and a widebody, we get to work on the driver’s office.
the S54 is reinstalled along with a couple of modifications, including headlight ducting and standalone brake system relocation. For safety measures, a Cool suit and fire system are installed.
Final touches of suspension, interior and aero upgrades are completed.
The car hits the scales to finalize ride height, rake, balance, and alignment.
This racecar is complete and ready for competition.
